The Heinrich Pesch Hotel is an ideal starting point for excursions in the surrounding area, but also for visits to the cathedral cities of Speyer and Worms or the German Wine Route. Mannheim and Heidelberg can be reached quickly on the right bank of the Rhine. The range of attractions in the region has something for everyone.<\/p>\n\n

Ludwigshafen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our hometown has a lot to offer! In terms of culture, Ludwigshafen not only scores with numerous events, such as the Festival of German Film<\/a><\/em>which takes place every year on Ludwigshafen’s Parkinsel, but also with great programs at the Theater im Pfalzbau<\/a><\/em> or exhibitions at the Wilhelm Hack Museum<\/a><\/em>. The museum is already a work of art from the outside: its striking design features a ceramic fa\u00e7ade by the artist Joan Mir\u00f3.  Ebert Park<\/a> is within walking distance of the hotel and invites you to stroll along lush flowerbeds. The Maudacher Bruch<\/a><\/em>, a nature reserve, is a wonderful destination for a cycle tour into the countryside. Speyer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Just about 20 kilometers south of Ludwigshafen along the Rhine, Speyer invites you to stroll through the old town. The city’s landmark is the imperial cathedral<\/a><\/em>which is the world’s largest surviving Romanesque basilica and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.\nWell-known museums in Speyer are the Historical Museum of the Palatinate<\/a><\/em>the Museum of Technology<\/a><\/em> and the SchPIRA Museum<\/a><\/em>.\nAlongside Worms and Mainz, Speyer is part of the SchUM cities<\/a><\/em>. The museum is located in the former. Worms<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The historic city of Worms, just over 20 km north of Ludwigshafen, is one of the oldest cities in Germany. After Speyer and Mainz, Cathedral St<\/a>. Peter<\/em>&nbsp;is the smallest of the three Romanesque imperial cathedrals on the Rhine. As a Lutherstadt<\/a><\/em> and was an important site of the Reformation in the Middle Ages. Together with Speyer and Mainz, Worms is one of the SchUM<\/a> cities. You can visit the Jewish museum in the Rashi House<\/em>, the synagogue<\/em> and the oldest Jewish cemetery in Europe, Holy Sand<\/a><\/em>.\nWorms serves as one of the main settings for the medieval heroic epic “The Song of the Nibelungs”; the Nibelung city of Worms pays tribute to this honor every year and stages the Nibelung Festival<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>

Bad D\u00fcrkheim<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Bad D\u00fcrkheim is a wonderful destination to enjoy a few hours or a day between forest, vines and culture. The spa town on the German Wine Route<\/em><\/a> with its landmark, the D\u00fcrkheim giant barrel<\/a><\/em>offers its visitors interesting sights, activities and relaxation. The town, where everything revolves around wine, is located on the edge of the Palatinate Forest and invites you to enjoy wonderful hikes in the forest or the surrounding sea of vines. For culture lovers, there are guided tours on various topics, while the spa gardens and the graduation house provide relaxation in the centre of the city. You can find out lots of interesting facts about the almost 600-year reign of the Counts of Leiningen in the town museum<\/em><\/a> in the Catoir House. Every year in September, the largest wine festival in the world, the sausage market<\/em><\/a>takes place. You can reach Bad D\u00fcrkheim with the Rhein-Haardt-Bahn, which takes you from Ludwigshafen directly to the German Wine Route<\/em><\/a> without having to change trains!<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>
